Lessons learned included the following:

Assess participants (e.g. Use both the Texas Teacher STaR Chart and the
Level of Technology Implementation
(LOTI) for maximum effect) before undertaking an online professional learning program.Make sure you prepare teachers for the actual online learning experiences. This means technology support. PAVE used the "Technology Proficiency Institute."

If grant-funded, provide them with a laptop compuer and everything they will be using in the online learning. It is important to clearly articulate what the expectations are for hardware, software, speed of connection needed.

If purchasing the curriculum through a company, be sure to review curriculum in advance to make sure it is free of problems. If problems do arise, ensure a good relationship with the company/educational institution to work through participant expectations.

Ensure Cohorts to off-set the isolation factor. Participants reported, "Cohort model is a good support system."
