Well, wait long enough (what's it's been? a week or two? <gasp> it's only been 3 days...blog time is faster than regular time) and Linux folks will build their own solution. A short time ago, I discussed the need for a GUI Linux Digital Storytelling tool. The DVD Slideshow program that was easy to install on UbuntuLinux was alright but strictly command line. I received this email from the person who introduced me to DVD Slideshow in the first place...an excerpt is shared below:

In doing some more DVD research and learning, I noticed that there /is/ now a GUI available for the DVD Slideshow package. The GUI package is called Slideshow Creator and is referenced on DVD Slideshow's home page. I haven't tried it, but thought I'd let you know about it. It may help you in your project. I'll certainly try it later.

How wonderful. While part of me is excited about a potential tool, I'm more excited about the spirit of collaboration and help extended by the individual!
