Welcome to the Doing the Moodle Mambo web site! The work of organizing these wiki pages, as well as teaching workshops gave rise to the Doing the Moodle Mambo: Fostering New Literacies article. I hope you’ll take a moment to read it since it summarizes a few approaches to how Moodle is being used in schools. More important than just a technology tool, it challenges us to teach different and makes it possible.

Differentiated Agendas

Setting Up and Maintaining Web 2.0 Tools (e.g. Moodle) - This is focused on a technical audience and can be structured in a variety of ways to meet the needs of the District. Includes setup of WindowsApacheMySQL/PHP and the setup/use of SQL Yog to create, as well as backup, the Moodle database.
Managing Professional Learning Online with Moodle - This is an introductory workshop on the use of Moodle to manage professional learning. An increasing number of workshop facilitators, as well as classroom teachers, are using Moodle to publish course handouts and other resources to the Web for their students to access. In addition, Moodle allows educators to create interactive online learning experiences for their students using activities such as forums, journals and online submission of assignments.
