DRAFT - NOTE that images haven’t been added yet.
Our high school band dept. would like to add a short clip of the band contest to our district web page, but we don’t know how. Can anyone offer advice? The video is burned onto a dvd, as dvd movie file.
Use the free VLC Media Player. They have a built-in wizard that you can use. http://www.videolan.org/vlc
1) Get and install the free VLC Media Player
2) Put the DVD in your computer’s DVD drive
3) Run VLC Media Player and go to FILE:OPEN CAPTURE DEVICE. This will bring up a window that is entitled OPEN…
4) Choose DISK from the tabs available (you can convert from a variety of formats, including web streamed content which is neat)
5) Choose DVD of the options available on the DISK tab screen that shows up.
6) Select the option that says “Stream output” and then
7) Click Settings. Note that a “Stream Output” window will pop up.
9) Choose FILE and select where you want to save the file. You can add “mp4″ as a file extension.
10) Click OK to close the Stream Output window.
11) Click OK on the OPEN… window
This last step will begin the process. You can also use the wizard and that works as well. With the wizard, you can select a portion of the video clip.
